As you might surmise, WACKY WONDERLAND WOLLOP: A 3D PLATFORMER FOR THE AGES GAME OF THE YEAR GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME: THE GAME is not the greatest game of all time. Crazy Mike almost had me then. If it’s in writing, it’s often true.

That’s not the case for this… erm… sandbox title. With a title such as this, if you’re expecting something life-changing, thought-provoking, penis-enlarging, or even big-brain-inducing, then you’re outta luck. It’s none of those things. It is wacky, however.

Crazy Mike isn’t just trolling the SEO with an absolute monster of a title, but they’re doing it with the actual content, too. There’s no real plot. Think WarioWare, Unity, a bottle of Pepto-Bismol, a family-size bag of Skittles and some LSD chucked into a blender, and some squirty cream to finish it off. Then, drink it through your nose.

At its core, WACKY WONDERLAND WOLLOP: A 3D PLATFORMER FOR THE AGES GAME OF THE YEAR GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME: THE GAME, is a 3D platformer# from a third-person perspective where you have the freedom to interact with NPCs drawn in from all walks of life, and with that, get drawn into some sort of mini-game or quest that may have been conceived in Dreams on the PS4.

Honestly, I don’t know how to put this review together, which may have the dev chuckling to themselves; mission accomplished. From the outset, it’s absolutely mental but funny with it. The character creation screen is effectively the protagonist with varying sizes of tits to complement their stature. After that, there’s constant rage-inducing gameplay, fourth-wall breaking, typos, and a tongue firmly tucked in cheek.

It would have been perfect to play this on the Steam Deck, but at the time of writing, it didn’t work whatsoever. Instead, this went on the back burner until I could free up some time outside of the Steam Next Fest, and by the time that happened, I was pretty much burnt out from playing so many amazing titles that this, in comparison, felt like too much of a wind-up.

Speling? No Fanks!

Don’t get me wrong, WACKY WONDERLAND WOLLOP: A 3D PLATFORMER FOR THE AGES GAME OF THE YEAR GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME : THE GAME is funny game, what with all the speling mistaiks, and no doubt it’ll appeal to a mostly niche crowd, but it’s so unpolished – intentional, but also in areas, unplayable.

It felt too much of a Game Jam/Early Access bit of fun. Yes, it is fun, but whether you’ll stick it out with all the madcap shenanigans remains to be seen. I can’t predict the reception of any title and may have written something opposite to what everyone else says. While I love irrelevance, this didn’t work for me, and I couldn’t stick with it. Far from telling you to stay clear of it, I’ll say check out some other reviews first.
