Help reignite the fire at struggling record store Repeater Records by being the music matchmaker in Wax Heads - coming to Steam.

Apparently, Wax Heads was at WASD 2024. Alas, I didn’t see it, but I would have loved to have given this a go—especially as new indie studio Patattie Games (Murray Sommerwolff of Welcome to Elk) is behind it, along with developer Rothio Tome.

‘Part puzzle game, part narrative sim, all cosy underdog goodness, Wax Heads puts you in charge of a failing record store’. Let’s put the realities of falling sales to one side for a moment and think about how romantic it sounds to run your own record store.

At Repeater Records, your job isn’t just to flip vinyl but sales in general, so you’ll learn all about your back catalogue so that you can match customers with albums. To do this, you’ll need to learn about the bands and their dramas, search through 50+ records, and help this store get its groove back.

Key features in Wax Heads include:

  • Gorgeous comic book art style
  • 50+ hand-drawn records
  • Quirky customers with unusual tastes
  • An uplifting narrative about community, mystery and underdog spirit!
  • An immersive handcrafted musical world
  • Charmingly approachable puzzle design
  • Mini games… and tamagotchis!
  • Killer original soundtrack

We don’t have a Wax Heads release date yet, but you can play the demo on Steam now, plus wishlist it. You know you wanna.
