To reiterate that I’m a weirdo and love the works of David Lynch, I’m delighted to see Who’s Lila? – an AI-powered reverse detective adventure demo is out today.

What the…? Yes, those terms were provided and not a guess. Before this is going to start to make sense, it’ll get weirder. The game is a point and click title, but you react with your face instead of selecting dialogue. Thankfully, it’s from the pre-selected choice and not a webcam setup. Have a wash later.

Who’s Lila? is actually about a girl named Tanya Kennedy who goes missing, and you were the last person to see her. Your options are to let the curious folk know what’s going on through your facial gesturing or remain secretive.

Developers, Garage Heathen, have stated that Lynch was a big inspiration for this indie title, full of weirdness and ‘surprising strangeness of the mundane’. The presentation is pretty cool, too; opting for a low-res dithered style.

We know that Tanya is missing, but who’s Lila?

Who’s Lila? demo is available on Steam, but you can also grab it on Itch.io. This looks unique, and will be playing this myself very soon!
