Be water, be a dragon. A Bruce Lee/Yakuza fusion there without any philosophies – there isn’t time: Yakuza Like A Dragon is now out on the PlayStation 5.

While I could pretend and say I’ve been waiting by the front door like an impatient dog for this to hit the PS5, but have read that the inevitable is true: if you have the PS4 version, you get a free upgrade.

Dropping Kazuma for Ichiban, Yakuza Like A Dragon also takes another turn by making the series an RPG. Does it work? Based on the glowing testimonies by rather large outlets, this is the mutts. But who reads reviews? We make our own opinions, right?

I’m not associated with Sega, but regardless, let’s be truthful here: it’s pretty expensive. I thought digital would mean cheaper games, but that was a naive assumption. Still, if you don’t have a mortgage, kids or both, there are three versions: Standard, Hero, and Legendary Hero.

  • The Standard edition ($59.99 available in physical and digital format).
  • The Hero Edition ($69.99, available in digital format) includes all features from the Day Ichi Edition, as well unlocking the full in-game job set and Management Mode set.
  • Lastly, the Legendary Hero Edition ($89.99, available in digital format) includes all the Hero Edition content as well as the full in-game crafting set, karaoke set, Ultimate Costume set and stat boost set.

For a limited time, you can also get the Legends Costume Set DLC (until 2nd April). Included in this set is Goro Majima’s tux, Kazuma’s icy fit, Daigo’s streetwear and more.
