Work Together To Escape Haunted Game, Terrorbytes
An 80s-inspired horror comedy, Terrorbytes in a 4-player co-op heading to Steam Next Fest this month - add it to your wishlist!
Steam Next Fest is due in a couple of weeks, so you might want to start adding Terrorbytes to your wishlist if 'Tron-inspired 4-player co-op set in a haunted arcade cabinet' tickles your fancy.
Developed by Treetop and published by Over the Moon (The Last Hero of Nostalgaia), this is a horror comedy where four young friends get sucked into the horrigically mangled retro arcade game, Ms Croak-Man.
Where the cabinet is infected by a virus, the players take on the role ghosts that have to work together to avoid Ms Croak-Man and collect energy pellets that unlock Terrorbytes' special items and respective upgrades. Spawn helpful arrows, unleash decoys, broadcast their voice to other players, but more importantly: escape!
With Terrorbytes we wanted to create something equal parts funny and scary... Getting scared and then laughing about it with your friends is a ton of fun, and what better setting for that than in a haunted arcade machine? ... four kids, playing with being ‘rebellious’ and ‘bad,’ break into an arcade and have an encounter with actual, real evil. It’s a classic story in a new, fun format! – John Warner, Founder and Studio Lead at Over the Moon
Terrorbytes will be available during Steam Next Fest from the 14th of October 2024 and will feature four playable characters, two stages, an iconic big baddie, and a whole lot more.
